When we originally integrated Dentrix in our office this happened automatically. When we checked out the appointment, a clinic note was automatically started that essentially had the procedure tied to the appointment posted in the note. Specific details were added to that note as needed. It was helpful because then a note would automatically be made on the date of service. There are times when I don't get to documenting until a day later. IF I forget to change the date on the note & lock it, the progress note date and the clinic note date are different, which could be confusing.
