We would like to immediately explain the balance owed from a patient in detail (we're not the phone company) w/o having to hunt & peck thru the ledger date by date, claim by claim, etc... (balance from certain date was $2.30 - hold on, let me find it and what family member it's beaming down from, today's out-of-pocket fees are $15 which is 20% on your perio maint plus $42 for 20% on your filling and remaining deduct of $33 - that adds up to $92.30). If there was a way for Dentrix to break down the ledger balance in more detail, our lives would be complete! It's nice to see the previous balance but it's not always easy to explain from whence it came w/o a study session. If we could just spout the above info w/o a pause, patients would be pleasantly surprised. But it's usually "let me look thru your account and call you back" and that doesn't always go over well - patients want answers when they call. Wouldn't you? Even at the front desk, you have to study the ledger at each checkout where INSURANCE is involved. Sometimes it's straightforward and sometimes it's a nightmare. Thank you so much!
