Case#04363569
It is very disturbing that one person can silence the patient alert and the entire practice cannot see that alert which was previously only silenced or not shown on just that work station. So if a patient comes in with a medical alert and the front desk clicks "do not show again today" (which was prior set so that it was just that desktop) - then the patient gets to the operatory and the doctor and assistant are not alerted to the popup alert. This is not acceptable and has never been this way until this latest update. It's coincidence that we even realized this was happening and it needs to be fixed ASAP.
I've been using Dentrix for 8years, and in the 8years it's always cleared the pop up for the day, on all stations, once some one clicks "do not show again". I agree with you. The consequences that can arise from this are disturbing.
There was a point where I went through every patients pop ups and limited where they can be viewed. The issue with the pop up is when you have lazy people connecting the pop up to every single thing. It becomes ALOT when you are working reception. 3+ pop ups a patient, 50 patients a day. That's 150+ popups that each reception could be dealing with a day, and that's not including the patients you are getting in phone calls for.
To avoid this completely having it secluded to each workstation would be a good idea. I also think it would be a good idea for Dentrix to do a overhaul on the view of the chart. Instead of having pop ups, having a column for important notes, similar to the same view as the treatment plan case setup column. Having important notes always visible in the chart would be a better idea that pop ups, just in general.
