Assignment of benefits for multiple and un-coordinated insurance

We have a new policy in place where we no longer accept payments from secondary providers unless it is the same insurance and the benefits are coordinated. We noticed that when a patient has 2 insurances on file and they have dependents in their family file, if we uncheck the assignment of benefits under the secondary insurance, it keeps getting unchecked when that dependent comes in for their visit. One has to always be checking to make sure the primary is on assignment, and the secondary is not. Is there a solution to this?

I recommend talking/chatting to Dentrix about your Assignment of Benefits situation. When out Dentrix was updated months ago, it turned the default from checked to unchecked and it created a huge mess. Patients were receiving payments from the insurance and to us, because Dentrix coders changed it automatically.

Dentrix continues to mess things up in big ways and I hope they're reading these Dentrix Ideas (they're not).
