It makes sense to have a schedule template for a software that assists doctors seeing patients. Not having a schedule template is like having a football without the field.
This is a great idea. I've used it on another software and it helped with time management. Somehow, our current dentist doesn't quite get that a scheduled patient appointment is more than just time with them. The assistant needs their time and the front desk needs at least 5 minutes (sometimes more) to finish the patient before the next patient comes in. We don't have a hygienist, but they also need special time sets. When I schedule an hour for a filling, the doctor should be able to get done...but that never works. They take the full hour, even for a one-surf filling (yikes!). There's nothing wrong with taking time with a patient, but remember...you're on a team and your staff also counts in this "time". Take 40 minutes of that hour, but let the staff have their one-on-one. Of course, right before lunch or at the end of the day, this causes high irritation. I don't want to work overtime and not get paid because they're dragging their feet. If they could "see" the actual appointment grid, I think it would help to remind them that they're not the only ones meeting with the patient at that appointment.
