Allow for a more accurate way to track new patients by when they came into the office not by when an appointment was made. This would allow an office to stay on top of their projected goals.
If you enter your new pt in the system (family file) there is the consent and the first visit dates. I use those to help keep track. I like to know the day they came so i place the appt date on both spots so when I print the report it only prints them for the date I listed. If they reschedule I change those dates to match.
