Customize billing statements

Allow the practice to customize billing statements. For example: option to omit the patient chart number; include or hide certain transaction types; change any of the wording (e.g. Balance Forward, Finance Charge); add any wording; change size of any section; change any of the text color so it stands out more; change fonts; etc.

Being able to enter a start date for a Statement would help greatly.

We need customized billing statements!!! Ledgers can get out of control at times and in the case of my practice the people handling billing did not manage them well enough so it is important for us as a practice to be in control of what the patient sees on the statement so it's less confusing. When printing a billing statement there's no control of the information the appears on there. If they're being billed for a balance for a year or two back it only shows up on the billing statement as "Balance Forward". Also I bill patients as we receive payment for their claims. So I'm printing them individually instead of running a report. A note section specific to the patient I'm printing a statement for would be nice so that I can explain to them what the balance is for. Ledgers are confusing especially to patients they barely know what's going on. Writing a hand written note on every statement explaining the breakdown is annoying. Please implement a note section on the billing statements so I can type in the note before printing it out.

A detailed billing statement - making it easy for patients to understand why the owe "x-amount" - is a must!! The lack of information provided on the current statements prevents them from paying until they "get around" to calling our office for an explanation (which typically takes 3-4 statements in the mail/1 per month) which absolutely too long! Especially when the issue can be corrected by our office being able to provide statements that clearly explain what was billed, what was paid by both the insurance and patient for each service rendered & any reasons for treatment being denied.

Yes would love a way to individualize the balance forward date so the patient's know what they were being billed instead of just balance forward and the balance.

yes - we allocate credit balances for internal reasons (multiple provider office) and it shows up on billing which confuses the patient. would like to be able to omit those from the patient.

Dr would like to have the statements print out in a more user friendly manner. They should include what the patient had done, what was paid by the patient, what the insurance paid, and, finally what the patient owes.He would like this to be all in an understandble format.

We would love to be able to write a simple note at the bottom of our walkout statement. I understand that you are able to write something, but it would be nice to have the option to keep it for each and every patient. It doesn't make sense that we are unable to customize our walk-out statments...

Allow to bill individual patients not the entire family. Some of the family members have outstanding claims and the numbers get messed up. Please change ASAP. Thanks.

Is it also possible to add the family balance to the top portion of the statement so if they tear it off and throw away the other portion, they atleast know their balance.

Having used Dentrix since 1996 I can safely say the format of billing statements (even though there are "16" different options) leaves much to be desired. Dentrix statements are confusing to the patient. Such an integral part of a practice should not be ignored for 15 years.

It would be great if instead of a 'date to start history from' for statements, that I be able to request that it start at the last point that the account balance was zero.

When a provider recommendation is printed on a billing statement, it prints across all the lines in a small font (about 8). This makes it very difficult for the patient to read. What we have been doing is playing with the number of spaced between lines of the text but this is time consuming and still prints in a small font. We would also like to be able to bold the text. ALSO, we are a non- assignment office and it always prints out the insurance payment (of $0.00). This is the greatest item of confusion with our families as they read this as the insurance re-imbursing them $0.00. We would love to take that off. FURTHERMORE, we also use the ledger to keep track of when we are running behind. We have a code for 15 min, 30 min, etc. We DO NOT want these to print out for our patients to see but still want to be able to run a report to see how frequently this is happening and according to the Dentrix tech support, there is no other way to do this.
