Dentrix Ideas

Select a Tooth, See the Activity of Tooth in a Pop-Up Window

Allow offices to right-click a tooth, and see various items such as tooth procedure and condition history, or the current TX planned items for that tooth.

    Admin response

We are looking for feedback on this idea. Specifically, would it be preferable to have the Graphic Chart display on such a pop-up? Also, if a tooth is selected, and there have been procedures posted in the quadrant that encompasses that tooth, would you want them to show in the popup? Either comment, or reply with an email to leave your feedback. Thanks.

Great idea! The pop-up could include all the specific tooth info first with an additional button for "quad-related" information that might be helpful.

You already have this capability by clicking on tooth in ledger or progress notes, You can click on the tooth in the chart and see tooth history also.

YES I have asked to see tooth history !! need to click on the tooth in the graphic chart and have a list of the procedures previously posted. Thank goodness you are lose to make this option available.

    Borrowing from prior posts:

attach tooth numbers to clinical notes as well, that would be helpful. When writing a clinical note for the patient's visit, attach the specific teeth that were restored, checked, discussed, etc.

include procedures posted in the quadrant only IF the procedure INCLUDES that tooth---such as a bridge/ Partials which includes that tooth or SRP-that quad.

Lab cases, referrals, letters, etc. Yes, please. (View by Selected Tooth, is cumbersome, as stated previously.

I would not like a really busy pop up, just a brief procedure history and filter out progress notes irrelevant to the tooth under the progress notes panel at the bottom of the screen.

It should have two functionalities. right clicking for a short pop history of the procedure of the tooth. But also selecting the tooth should filter out all other progress notes not relevant to the tooth under the progress notes tab at the bottom of the chart.

What if we could go to pt chart and highlight a tooth and anything and everything that has been done on that tooth would pop up?? If would be so much easier than going to ledger or chart notes and trying to find info from years past.

We accomplish this by being on the work chart or full screen chart, highlighting the tooth we want information on and then chosing the "by selected teeth" icon on the tool bar. If you have existing, complete and existing other options previously checked down below for the work chart, then you will see every time you've had an entry for that tooth. Likewise, if you have treatment plan selected it'll show you every time in history you've TP'd something for that tooth (and need to clean up old data!)

He would also like to be able to add a note to teeth on the chart this way...ie distal buccal fracture found...etc

This would be a FAB idea, esp. since assistant don't have time to go throught ledger but could click on such a button to see what and when another restoration was done on the tooth they are currently working on. There are time allotments for redoing a rest with the same surfaces. GO FOR IT DENTRIX and listen to us.

I use the filter "by selected teeth" constantly to show everything done to a tooth. But a right-click on a tooth, to sort by that tooth would be much faster.

These are all good ideas. Even if you click on the "w" for a tooth that we are watching and see why and our notes. Also,if you could click on tooth that has a treatment plan, we could quickly tell the patient again what the condition of the tooth is. Also, this feature would allow those scheduling to talk more knowledge on the phone as to why thy need a particular proceedure.

a "hover feature" on the tooth in a chart with it's entire history coming up would be incredibly valuable. Please vote for this one.

Right click on tooth to show all the procedures associated and lab slips also. (I suggested this elsewhere.)
