Clinical notes not written report Merged

A report that you can run, that would show if clinical notes have or have not been written up for that day? I know that I can go into every patients chart but I am thinking that a report would take less time... The report would show pt's checked out that day and if a clinical note was also written up.

This is a great idea. Sometimes our clinicians might get busy and forget to added comments. If the clinicians could pullup clinical notes based on their user id, then they could see the patient notes they are responsible for entering.

Should have been completed 10years ago. Why are you just now addressing this very important, old issue.

Please not a report - just change a portion of the gray completed appointment in the appointment book. Maybe highlight the patient name or something. We should be able to glance at the appointment book to find out, it wold be so easy to find if notes not done. This way it can be seen as the day goes along, we all look at the appointment book multiple times a day !!

    Hi Lisa,

This is a new Product Management and Product Marketing Management team on Dentrix and we really want to do a great job of listening to our customers so we appreciate your comments and passion. The feature to track clinical notes and clinical notes signatures has already been scoped and we will be implementing it but not until 2021. We acknowledge that we can’t be a perfect practice management system for everyone that we serve, but we do try and we invite you to keep an open dialogue with us.

Some comments suggest that Eaglesoft offers this extremely helpful, necessary  & convenient report. SO, I have some thoughts!

Given this request is EXTREMELY valid and can assist in offices facing potentially avoiding legal ramifications, I would think this should be a HIGH priority for Dentrix. Clearly, after 9 years, it is not!

HOWEVER, I am pretty sure that if we all told Dentrix to add this report in a timely manner (30 days) or we would all switch to Eagle soft (and encourage our neighboring offices to do the same but posting about it ALL OVER  SOCIAL  MEDIA), I have a feeling that it MIGHT light a match under their tails.  MAYBE... just MAYBE it might actually get done sooner rather then later. I mean come on Henry Schein/DENTRIX,  9 YEARS? REALLY?  THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! GET THIS DONE!

Add a report option that shows unwritten clinical for patients checked out, and a report for clinical notes not signed.  I'm not a programmer but ai cannot imagine it's that difficult.

Hey Dentrix Ready. Set. Go.... 30 days...

I did find a report that shows all patients during a specific time period who have clinical notes. It will only show if a note has been created and something is written. Usually, it is only the BP done by asst. But it will allow me to see which ones need to be signed. When you're in the Office Manager you go to Reports then Lists and Patient Note Report.  You can set the parameters for what dates you are searching and type of notes. It is a little time consuming because it searches your entire patient data base. Hope this helps!

from the appt. book click on any hygiene patient, click tooth in upper left hand corner of appt. book,go to view, panels, clinical notes, printer icon, enter date range, enter patient(last name, all and print. This will printout all clinical notes for the day in question and for all providers. I'm sure there is an easier way but this gets the job done in a timely manner.

I recommend taking it one step further. Create a doctor's inbox that lists charts not written up or requiring signature. The inbox should only show patients for selected providers. There should be an "all" option so the office manager or closing receptionist can double check to ensure all patients for the day have clinical notes. If it is blank, all patients seen that day have signed clinical notes. Ideally the doctor should be able to open their inbox, click on a listed patient's name to go directly to the missing or incomplete clinical note, enter any missing information and sign the note.

We are also looking for a solution to this problem and would love to see an icon in the appt book that will alert us to charts that have not been signed for the day.

YES, CLINICAL NOTES REPORTS need allow to BATCH or VIEW TO SCREEN: If running a busy office,, need a way to make sure all CLINICAL NOTES were written for the day by Hygienists, Associate Dentists etc. G5 Currently only allows PRINTING of the CLINICAL NOTES reports. You are making us cut down the the rain forests for paper just to review and make sure our office Clinical notes are written each day/week.

Banyon (CLINICAL NOTES REPORTS need allow to BATCH or VIEW TO SCREEN) and Debbie (icon in the appt book that will alert us to charts that have not been signed for the day.) in other comments have it right there. Those two suggestions are both must haves, thank you

Maybe when the procedures are closed out they could view as a different color until the notes are written and signed then they could grey out. We have the notes issue with minor adjustment patients that are a quick in and out thing.

I like the icon on the appointment book idea - a quick way to check to see if clinical notes have been completed

I have the same problem. I have a chance to write up most of my clinical notes as sign as I go thru-out the day; Every day...I have to go back through EVERY chart to make sure that the notes are completed and signed; I work in another office that has their own dental software. The appt charges to RED when the chart has been signed; and the to Blue when the front office has completed everything; If they make any changes...it goes back to the original color...indicating that it need a signature. I have asked for the last couple of years...for a symbol to put on once the procedure are charged out...place an S or check mark to show that the chart has been signed.

I agree with the others asking for an appointment view icon on the status of clinical notes. I imagine an icon in the upper right corner of the appointment box. The icon would have three different forms: one for no clinical note, one for clinical note written but not signed, and one for clinical note written and signed (or maybe the icon disappears once the clinical note is signed, so you know everything is up to date). The icon could be a red light, yellow light, green light.

If TREVOR comments positive and thanks you, does this mean that it is definitely going to be put into next upcoming version?

This report exists in Dentrix Enterprise, but it brings in all of the detail. I suggest one or all of the following solutions: 1. Tailor the report to only include a patient list (or optional detail) 2. Create a view within clinical notes that allows you to see all unsigned and unwritten notes. 3. Include an icon on the appointment that indicates whether or not a note has been written for that patient's appointment.

I love all of these ideas! I like being able to see if its been signed by the provider as well as being able to run a report for no notes. It seems that you could do something similar to procedures not attached to insurance (or whatever its called :) ). If there is a service or treatment code on a patient's ledger but no note, you should be able to run a report to see that. I would really appreciate an icon on the appointment that could show if its signed--great idea doc!
