Dentrix needs to develop a true end-to-end digital workflow solution from treatment plan presentation, to capturing consents, to sending patients copies of their pre- and post-operative instructions, to their payment receipts. When Patient Engage as all other third party SAAS have done the initial patient intake forms that may or may not fully write back data into the Dentrix modules, a workflow that makes sense and works the way dental offices actually work is sorely missing. Consent and Pre-Opertative Instructions forms capture should already be getting triggered by treatment planning a procedure code, with Dentrix able to prevent duplicate identical forms for the same day of treatment. Once consent and Pre-Operative forms are signed and stored within the Patient Chart, The patient should be sent their Post-Operative instructions with automation. Right now, Dentrix' consents are embedded inside the Treatment Planner and the only option is just to sign with an attached signature pad while the rest of the industry have moved to iPad signatures. Dentrix needs to develop this connection with the third party SAAS or provide it themselves.
