When a provider using the same operatory repeatedly runs over on timing and we want to show it, the appointment should be able to be dragged over the next one and it can change the color to red to show the overlap. When the appointment is set complete, there will be a dotted line showing how much longer into the next appointment it ran. Then we can keep track if a hygienist uses more time than scheduled and the next patient waits.
I would vote for a different reason as well. We ask patients to arrive early for paperwork, so we want their appt confirmation to show that time. Doing this causes an overlap and we are having to use a separate operatory to do so.
I voted for a different reason, but would love to overlap appts in the same Operatory. Some appointments have the patient(child) arrive an hour before the treatment time to give them sedation medication and have them wait an hour for it to take affect. Example: PT arrives at 8:00am to take the sedation meds. A different PT is called back at 8:00am to begin treatment. Then at 9:00am the 1st PT is called back to begin sedation treatment. So we have had to create a "Sedation" operatory because we cannot overlap both 8:00am PTs in the same Op.
Scheduling both PTs at 8:00am is the correct method. If we schedule the sedation PT at 9:00am in the Appt Book, this will only confuse them to think they need to arrive at 9 when the appointment reminder is sent, since they actually need to be here at 8.
Wish I could vote for this multiple times.
Showing the actual time of the appointment is important and would be nice for it to drag that out to the time when you marked the appointment as completed or checked out.
