In the Appointment book color code the appointments according to Type. Allow colors to be specified by Appointment Type, and allow user to choose whether to use Provider colors or Appointment Type colors in the Appointment Book.
I was just looking all over for this. I would love to be able to paint by appointment type just like Eagle Soft can. DO IT!

This is one of the major features I miss from Eaglesoft! It is so helpful in efficient scheduling!

when you add this feature, create an icon that allows user to flip between production colors & provider colors.

I agree. This allows at a glance to see if high production is booked or if certain procedures are over booked on a certain day. i used to color code for procedures but reduced to amt of production and time . unable to this. staff needs visuals as when in hurry they will not read appts around "empty slots"

until now, we have a provider named "sealants" so that we can quickly at a glance see who needs sealants on the schedule. you can essentially do that for any procedure you would want to highlight. however, changing and giving an option of how to color code would be much better. hope it happens soon.

Please add this option. I'm surprised that 6 years after the suggestion it hasn't been made available. This is an option in Eaglesoft. In my previous office, we would schedule on production and procedure, not just where there is an opening for a provider. It was the screen of preference by any assistant/hygienist that had worked there for more than a couple weeks. The front desk still used the provider color screen because they had to juggle 6+ providers, but they toggled between the two screens when making appointments. With having the colors by procedure and production it gives the staff a really good view on how the day will go and how to be more productive and efficient. It can have a dramatic effect on your bottom line and teach the staff to schedule better.

eg. have one hour under a cerain color for restorative and then another color for eg. 1 1/2 hours for surgery that way staff members
who are pitching in can help schedule correctly.

It would be helpful to change the background color for our overfow op to a special color which would make it easier when making appointments.

How has this not been implemented yet?!

We should be able to view an appointment color as the type of the appointment (or procedures attached to it) not by provider. Having the option of either or would be a huge improvement. Dentrix is one of the only practice management software's that does not have this capability at this time.

we schedule from 7 to 7 with alternating morning and evening shifts. It would be nice to have the background colors of the appointment book coordinate with the color of the hygienist that will see them at that time so we can just schedule without having to memorize the schedule.

1 dr., 2 assistants. the newest assistant says that the older assistant will often tell her who she is seeing and says she gets all of the more complicated appointments. if they have colored columns, i the office manager will know daily whos seeing who and can tell if it looks fair or not.

Can you please update Dentrix to allow custom appointment colors by appointment type?
It would be helpful to glance the schedule and immediately determine if something is scheduled as a high production vs. medium or low production appointment.
I would like to be able to look at the schedule and immediately know if someone is a new patient, if we need to verify that an appointment is a delivery of a crown/bridge/onlay/occlusal guard, etc.
Thank you!

Allow for color coding of appointments, it is helpful be to able to look at the schedule at a glance and not have to click open the appointment. It will also keep us from double booking our nitrous appointments as we only have one nitrous unit.
This needs to happen!!! Yesterday.
