Finance charge option: skip if claims pending

When applying finance charges, give option to skip accounts or to portion of an account balance where there is an outstanding insurance claim pending payment. [199]

      we would like to know why finance charges are added to pending claims even though we checked the box not to.

      Dr. Cooney, I'm not sure what box you are checking, but the current design of finance charges is to base the finance charge against the amount displayed in the Family Balance.

      I "forgive" new finance charges in months that patients make payments. I now have to review statements and manually remove these charges if a payment has been made. It would be nice if I could have the option to not charge a finance charge when a payment has been made.

      This never happened with G4. Patients should not be accruing finance charges when ins. claims are pending and they have paid their portion in full.
