When printing out billing statements to send to patients it already show's an * indicating the charges are pending insurance BUT if the patient has a secondary that is pending there is NOTHING on the statement indicating this so a bill is sent to the patient and either the pt will pay or a call will be made into the office asking if there secondary insurance has been billed and 99% of the time it has we just haven't received anything yet so the patient should have never received a bill. There is no indication on the billing statement that the pt has a secondary pending. IT COULD BE AS SIMPLE AS ANOTHER * AFTER THE WORDS "BALANCE FORWARD" JUST TO SHOW THAT BALANCE IS PENDING INSURANCE. Regardless if it's a primary or secondary or whatever. Please consider this. It would save wasted paper, envelopes, stamps, time, calls in and noting a call. Especially for the patients that mail in payments. Thank you!
