Can the exceptions update treatment plan estimates?

Currently, the exceptions box has a lot of space for details on exceptions. My concern is that there is a lot of time and effort being put into updating this exceptions box when it has no effect on the treatment plans and we are having to manually update or vocalize non-covered services due to age limitations. Seems somewhat wasteful. There is a disclaimer on the Exceptions Table screen that states that this box is for information only. Adding or updating this table can take a lot of time...valuable time, why not make it dual purpose?

My request is that if we are taking the time to input these exceptions that it would update when the codes are planned for patients based on these exceptions so the treatment plan estimates are a bit more accurate. No matter where you have it indicated that they are estimates, this always causes a stir.

My examples are attached. 26 yr old patient needing sealants. The exception is in the insurance box per insurance guide. Yet the treatment plan still shows 100% coverage.

Please please please make this a top priority for 2024. I am desperate to have this feature back (absolutely loved it in Open Dental) and it would make everything a million times earier with catching when things will not be covered due to frequency!

This is something that needs to be fix 100% - Why are we entering exceptions and already have a place for plan notes - Why are we wasting time for a useless feature if they do not affect the treatment estimates. I don't not understand how we are not able to downgrade fills and keep track of limited exam frequencies that are not going to be covered - Open dental - Eagle Soft etc. have had this ability for years now but Dentrix does not . I do not understand

It would be beneficial to have the ability to link the updated coverage table with the treatment planner to accurately update fees and estimates for claims. This would ensure that default fees are overridden and the information is up-to-date.

This 100% needs to be updated to change the insurance estimated calculations. I was looking forward to this added feature so that the treatment plan and ledger would accurately account for changes in the insurance estimates based on frequency, age limits, waiting periods, etc. Having the exception table is a waste of time and tedious effort if it will not help automate the process of manually checking coverages and frequencies. Open Dental had this function in 2018 and it is absurd that Dentrix does not have this feature yet-so much of our AR would be reduced if the program would auto-correct for frequencies that we are already putting into the software.
