Individual Patient billing type and individual statement

Allow the practice to assign a different billing type for a member of the family, and to be able to run billing statements and walkout statements by individual patients.

Please do this. It is embarassing explaining to patients why they are getting a bill that is meant for their partner and having to explain that our software can't send individual bills. Or having to change the guarantor is a pain.

No medical office sends out bills to adults linked together anymore.

    A) HIPAA (even though it is likely technically ok)

    B) Complicated family relationships

    C) Patients seem to pay their bill better when it is addressed to them instead of their spouse

It would be great to be able to print a billing statement for an individual family member, especially in partnerships where finances may not be shared. Having the entire family's appointment list show up is also not always wanted.

This would help so much! We currently can't use Dentrix' billing features because when adults are covered by their parents' insurance, and we treat both the adults and their parents, we have to lump them all into one family, and the parents as Guarantors get access to their adult children's PHI whenever we send out billing statements

YES, please! It's difficult on our practice to have to carry a balance for a single family member while other family members have outstanding claims. And too confusing to patients to try and decipher what is owed vs what is still outstanding!!!

It would be so helpful if statements and walkouts could be sent to individuals and not just the guarantor, this would be extremely helpful in husband/wife situations especially. It would alleviate a lot of calls and/or explanations of why someone is getting a bill when someone else in household has balance and would help for Hipaa purposes.

I have to totally agree!! It would be much easier to keep tract of outstanding balances per patient and get rid of the time spent on looking for who owes the balance. And it would be nice to have an Aging report for the individuals that owe the balances, not the guarantor.

family account was always a problem to our patients. They are confused when we print out the pt. ledger history and looks up the balance. If the family has children they want to know where the balance is coming from and date of service. Our ledger just give them family balance. Not until we do audit that we can tell what date of service the balance occured. This was always a concern that we have voice to dentrix but I hope more people will voice the same concern.
