Automate archiving and inactivating patients

Allow the user to archive or inactivate multiple patients at one time, according to specific parameters. For example: by billing type, by primary provider, by insurance plan, by last visit date, etc. Should list patients first for the user to remove any from the list to be archived or inactivated.

Any idea when this will actually be implemented?

We need this right away. It shouldn't take us weeks of work if we just want to inactivate all patients that haven't been here in 2 or 3 years.

I would really like this as an option. The parameter I would use would be last appointment date, maybe 7-10 years. It is just too tedious doing this one. patinet. at. a. time.

I have been asking for this feature for years. We have close to 40K paitents in our database and I would love to be able to archive patients that haven't been in the office for over a certain amount of time (like 5 or 10 years or something like that.)

This would be great. Also if they are inactivated, clear any continuing care status, empoyer and insurance information if balance is zero so we can start fresh if the patient returns

I love this suggestion, but I see a couple of issues for auto-archiving when the patient has other family members. Sometimes the other family members are non-patients, listed only for insurance or billing reasons (in which case they should be archived too, but wouldn't show up as inactive patients), and sometimes the other famiy members are active patients who should not be archived. Also you can only archive a H-of-H if all other family members are archived. Auto-inactivating, however, seems like it would be do-able.

Also would like to view patient ledger without having to reactivate patient... keep them archived and be able to see when they were last in etc... And I agree that auto archiving could be messy but would like it to clear out continuing care etc, that would be nice

I'd like a way to archive all patients before a certain date and clean up the data base that way.

It would be really cool if we could archive certain patients using something similar to report filters. The one at a time thing is really time consuming

With over 6,000 patients to archive this would be helpful!

There needs to be a way for Dentrixs to purge/archive all patients that are over 5 years, without having to manually check each chart.

If Dentrix can provide a way to Archive a patient without having to do a Credit Adjustment to take the balance off of each patients ledger. In our office using Credit Adjustments to archive patients messes up our monthly reports that would reflect a true CREDIT Adjustment. Thank you.

A way to Inactivate all patients that haven't been seen in the office in over 3 or 4 years in a group instead of having to go individually patient by patient.

G5 would allow archiving of a patient if the family balance was zero but the patient balance was not. Bring that back or come up with a button to automatically zero out all the patient accounts in a family so they can be archived. I have 20 years of patients with balances due to the inability to split payments. I also have 20 years of patients that were never archived! Now you have changed the system so that people like me would have to hire a new person for 3 months straight just to zero out accounts and archive all the old patients/families. I'm not the only office that will have problems not being able to archive in G6. We all still don't split payments appropriately. You can't just change to splitting payments and change the archiving process without allowing a way for offices to fix long lasting problems...

A button to zero out patient balances in a family where the family balance is zero to allow archiving.

As a pediatric practice payments are posted to HofH not the dependent patient. When archieving all patients files must be at 0 now with G6. Crediting and debiting is what we do but the credits are included in the production numbers on the appointment book and not the debits according the David Moreno support at Dentrix. We do a lot of archieving/purging at the end of the year and our production doubled in November. This needs to be corrected or go back to the old way where the family file only needs to be at 0.

Archive patient--Even when a family has a $0 balance, we can't archive a patient. Ex: Husband passed. Now 3 yrs later wife passes--there is still a $0 balance. We cannot archive this account as one point in history, a payment was posted to each individual. As courtesy to patients, we want to "remove" deceased members from the account!!!!!!
