Option to calculate/show discounts and write-offs on Treatment Plan

Add a column to the Treatment Planner that calculates and shows discounts or write-offs. Show credit adjustments as part of the treatment plan (cash discounts). Wants to be able to see adjustments as part of the treatment plan financing without adding the adjustments to the patients account until the treatment plan is completed--should have option to post automatically when the treatment plan is completed. Add options for the Treatment Planner to calculate discounts and taxes (similar to the Ledger, Enter Tax / Discount option). For calculating, there could be options for "Selected Procedures" for "Selected Case" or "Selected Visit". There should be options for any adjustments for the treatment plan to be included when the the treatment plan is printed, on the related reports. Offices have asked to be able to show discounts in the Presenter.

This would be a wonderful feature! My calculations can be hundreds of dollars off due to insurance contractual adjustments. It is embarrassing when the patient tells you that you are not doing your job correctly. It is frustrating not being accurate.

Is there an update on this? @DENTRIX I just heard that if we switch to OpenDental they are connected with a company called Flex that does this all automatically. This should be top priority. Thank you

Looks like this has been "under consideration" for 5 years now... @Dentrix! PLEASE HEAR US ON THIS!

Dentech Software used to calculate the patients treatment cost from the fee schedule attached.....this would be very helpful too! Someone needs to mention this to the programmers for Dentrix Software. This would make any office more efficient. Also, Dentech Software would allow you to calculate 2 benefit years for larger treatment plans! Why is Dentrix so behind with this feature and Dentech is old as dirt?

Not sure how Dentrix has not put this in. You have an allowed amount option when entering the insurance in the claim WHY DOES IT NOT CARRY INTO THE TREATMENT PLAN?? THIS IS NEEDED

Please do this! Switching to Open Dental if it cannot. There is way too much patient hostility lately. People are getting angrier, as insurance companies cover less and less. When we don't have an accurate treatment plan, it adds to the stress. We cannot run a practice with this outdated system.

wordle 2 is a new version released at the current crossword puzzle. In terms of gameplay, it is the same as the original version, but the difficulty is greatly increased. The number of puzzles updated by a large number will definitely make you more difficult!.

You should also get into FNF, one of the funniest rhythm music games out there!

I find it sad that this request is dated 7/9/19, shows it is under future consideration, today is 1/21/22 and this has still not been done. This should be a simple coding process. Allow us to include our Standard fees in the patient file AND add a second insurance fee schedule for patients that we are in network with. Subtract to calculate the write off. We already can include our fees and the Delta fees (for example) on a treatment plan. Show the write off AND have the system calculate the patient portion against the insurance fee, instead of Standard fee, where applicable. The patient portion would be accurate, and it would show correctly when the patient maxes out. Apparently, Eagle Soft already has this. It seems like a no brainer.

YES please! I will not be happy to use Dentrix until this occurs. The treatment plans are horribly inaccurate if you are doing the write off method. The patient's benefits max out way too quickly and patient portions are not accurate. I know Dentrix probably would recommend using fee schedules then, but some of our insurances do not require a write-off once the patient maxes out. So I still like to use our office full fee. Please please please implement this. I would be happy to speak to someone from Dentrix to explain in more detail how important this is.

DentrixAscend ALREADY does this!!!!! This is just asinine! This needs to be added like yesterday. It is completely time consuming to have to guess estimate what a patient will truly owe you at time of service. This absolutely takes to much labor of man power when the software should be designed to calculate this!!

This is beyond frustrating that Dentrix does not support the write offs to show on the treatment plan. Here is our dilemma: If we use the write off method, we have to post adjustments to the ledger. These write offs are lumped in with the Primary column on the treatment plan. For example, if our fee is $150 and insurance pays $100, then we post a $50 write off. Our treatment plan will show that insurance pays $150, which then maxes out the patient too early in a larger treatment plan. Then the rest of the plan is inaccurate and the patient's total is completely off. If I do a fee schedule, my insurance does not require me to charge the contracted rate, so when the patient meets maximum, the allowable fee is on the treatment plan and not our full office fee.

Please please please, allow write offs on the treatment plan. It is so such a headache and unprofessional to have to calculate all the numbers by hand and write on the treatment plan. This is a big enough issue that it honestly warrants a switch in practice management softwares. The treatment plan feature is so important for dental offices. Please implement this.

This is a LONG over due update. Other software providers have had this option for the last +15 years. (Practice Works) It is such a waste of man power to have to figure out the difference by hand. PLEASE make this happen !!

Yes please! For the patient to be able to clearly see the actual estimated payment coming from the insurance company AND the adjustment that we have to make based on our contract with the carrier is a huge plus. Also it has been mentioned in the comments...having the option to clearly show any personal courtesies not related to insurance. I am a relatively new user to Dentrix and this is definitely s sore subject with me. Our previous software (Dental Vision) had an excellent treatment planner with columns showing the office fee, the PPO UCR, insurance adjustments, estimated portion for patient and insurance payments, and personal courtesies. It was crystal clear in the printout. There was also an area that we could type in miscellaneous notes on the tx plan too. No need to white out and/or hand write anything. Please take these suggestions seriously!! Thank you

100% agreed!! I'm not sure if it's the same for everyone but the write off based on our inputted fee schedule is included on the treatment plan under the "Estimated Insurance Payment", which also takes away from the patient's maximum remaining. We just had a patient that has 100% coverage for crowns and even though she really has enough insurance maximum to cover it Dentrix calculates the write off in the insurance payment and "maxes" her out faster causing the printout to show that the patient has an estimate due. When we had to explain to this patient (and many others) that our computer doesn't calculate it correctly and we have to hand-write the accurate number and cross out inaccurate number it makes us look unprofessional! VERY FRUSTRATING. There should be a column for write off's that is separated from "estimated insurance payment" so that it doesn't deduct the write off from the patient's remaining maximum like it does now. PLEASE REVIEW AND IMPLEMENT ASAP!!!

This is a NO BRAINER and cant believe its not an option, every patient that has an adjustment should be able to see that on the sheet they are signing, it protects the Patient and the Practice! Should never have been designed without that option in the first place and this is one of the longest standing softwares out there, this should not be a Future Consideration, this should be implementation right now. Other newer dental softwares have this option already.
