New Patient appointment include more fields
When creating an appointment for a new patient, add the following fields: work phone, cell phone, preferred name, occupation, drivers license number, age/birthdate, referral source, insurance, emergency contact, special needs, medical alerts, drug allergies, note field, email address, etc. Would also like to be able to choose billing type and Fee Schedule. Would also like any of these fields not already in the family file to be added.

Dentrix Users,
We are planning to make improvements to the New Patient workflow in near future and we would love your input. Please send us a quick message at DentrixProductTeam@HenryScheinOne.com so that we can connect!
This request is now obsolete due to new Patient functionality as of update sometime in 2024.
Definitely need to have a "new patient" entered as an actual patient in the system. So much headache not being able to add all of the pertinent information into the patients profile and scan any
documents that are gathered prior to the appointment.
When making a New Patient Appt you should be adding them as a patient, so you can add important information. Such as the insurance. Creating a new patient and having the patient in the system, there should be an alert that a patient matches that information and asking for approval before continuing. This prompts you to search to see if the patient is in fact already a patient before adding a duplication.
in someway prevent duplicate entries.
DOB
Referral
Reason for visit
Cell # (make it searchable as most people don't have home phones)
email
address
date of last dental visit
insurance info
Be able to create family file.
DOB
DOB, pre-med for dental appt. Insurance Name
Any way for Dentrix to detect if the First/Last name & DOB combo is already in the system to decrease duplicate patient entries?
We also have standard questions that we would like to incorporate in the New Patient appointment. Maybe an optional feature each office could choose to use or not.
Do you have any areas of concern? if yes, Location U/L/A L/R
Approximately, when was your last dental visit?
Do you have any allergies?
Do you need to be pre-medicated for your dental appointments?
Do you have any insurance that you would like us to submit for you?
2 patient identifier...... Name and Date Of Birth! Please include DOB entry option.
I would also be nice to have notes visible on the ASAP list for new patients. Since that list is not interactive with anything might as well serve for something useful on new patients.
At the very least, add a field for DOB. And make it searchable. It's sometimes hard to find a new patient appt if the name has been spelled incorrectly.
DOB and note field sound great! Keep email address too.
Preferred name would also be great!
DOB and Gender would be super helpful.
Please please please add date of birth! I cant believe it was never part of the original design, as EVERY SINGLE DOCTOR EVER needs date of birth for all patients.
We would like First/Last Name, DOB, Phone #, Address, Insurance info and add additional family members
DOB!!!! Ins Name-Subscriber Name, Member ID--just add all the things needed to create a family file...
DOB would be most helpful, gender of patient
DOB is needed, especially if requesting/verifying info from a referral
We just concentrate on getting the patient in the door. Idk about you, but alot of them always seem put out when we start asking them their dental insurance info...like it's such a burden to dig out their card or call their spouse because they forgot to get it or whatever. We want it, but not at the expense of not being able to meet the patient. Of course, we tell them what insurances we accept and get their name and number. If they seem talkative, we will ask them pretty much everything we can...because we truly need it, but we don't want to offend them. Subscriber, dob's, member id, employer, group id. We sometimes let them know that we don't need it, but if they want their insurance to pay their claim, well...
It would be nice to have all the information as a NP so when we try to create NP welcome letters, it shows up. As it is now, we can only create a welcome letter to a patient who has a family file. Unless I'm doing something wrong.
