You can do this by going to the Office Manager > Analysis > Practice > Reports. Here you can choose to search by procedure code range and date. Hope that helps
The most important report a marketing dentist needs is a list of patients treated over a period of time, and the total dollars spent, sorted from most to least. The top 500 patients over the last 4 years need to be marketed repeatedly. Mercedes markets to their existing clients, not Vespa owners!
I need to pull up a list of procedures/treatment plans that are in specific files (ie. accepted, rejected, eventual) as presented in the treatment planner. Not just a list of incomplete treatment.
Still no response? I need to run a report of all of our patients that have recieved whitening trays/refills (we have a specific code) so we can market our new Zoom!, seems like this should be a simple task but Dentrix doesn't want to cooperate!
Lila, while this report doesn't pull patient info, you could get that information by creating a Patient Report View in Letters. This method might actually be better suited for your need (sending marketing materials to the patient) as the final result will be a spreadsheet with address, email, phone number, and/or other such demographic information that YOU CHOOSE to include.
** Let me also add that I do not disagree with the suggestion. I simply want to help by offering another method that might accomplish what you want today. **
Article # 34627 in the support knowledgebase adds some illustrations to the following steps, and might be easier to follow (www.dentrix.com/resource-center):
Dentrix | Office Manager | Letters | Misc | New...
In Letter Name field, type "Custom Patient Report"
In the Merge Data File Name field, type "report.out"
In the Merge Letter Template field, type "report.doc"
In the sections Status, Gender, and Position, uncheck all selections (or filter as desired).
On the Use Privacy Request for "No correspondence" to skip patients section,
- If Does not apply for this letter is marked, patients with privacy requests will still be included in the final list (not be skipped).
- If Applies for Patients or Guarantors is marked, all patients who have the "No correspondence" option selected in the Family File will not be included in the final list according to their stated preference (will be skipped).
- If Applies for "Referred By Patients" is marked, the letter will not include any patients who have a "Referred By" patient who has the "No correspondence" option selected in the Family File.
Select the Procedures filter.
In the Search For section, select Completed.
If desired, in the Select Procedure Codes section, select a range of procedure codes.
In the Select Procedure Date, enter the date range desired.
Click the Data Fields tab (found in the top left, under the Letter Name field)
Check only the demographic information that you want to include on the final report.
After you are satisfied with the selections made, click OK to close the Patient Report View dialog box.
Highlight the new letter just created ("Custom Patient Report").
Select Create/Merge | Create Data File Only | and OK
Wait for the query to check every patient in your system.
When it finishes counting, select View List.
'Select All' and 'Copy' the list.
Open a spreadsheet application (such as Microsoft Excel) and Paste the information.
"The most important report a marketing dentist needs is a list of patients treated over a period of time, and the total dollars spent, sorted from most to least. The top 500 patients over the last 4 years need to be marketed repeatedly. " Where is this report? COME NOW!
I would love this report so we can easily identify who our top customers are! I would also like to know their birthdays - top customers we want to send cards or gifts to on their birthday...
The Procedure Log Report Utility can help you get this information today. This utility will generate a text file which contains information similar to the Day Sheet Report, but which can also be sorted in any spreadsheet application.
To generate a report using the Procedure Log Report Utility:
1.Browse to the local Dentrix folder.
2.Find the Procedure Log Report Utility (proclrpt)
•In DTX G3 & newer: the file is called _PROCLRPT.EXE
•In DTX G2 & prior: the file is called pr.dtx and needs to be renamed to PROCLRPT.EXE.
3.Double-click to open the utility.
4.In the Procedure Log Report Utility, click Generate Report.
5.Enter the desired date range
6.Select whether you want the results filtered by Entry Date or Procedure Date.
7.Select the desired Providers and Billing Types or leave as ALL.
8.Mark Ledger Transactions Only.
Optionally, select to Include Insurance Information (this adds columns detailing the patient's primary and secondary insurance carrier).
9.Click OK
NOTE:
A Cannot Execute Word or Excel message may occur, click OK.
10.Browse for the file PROCLRPT.TXT
This file will be located in the Letter Template Folder under a sub folder named Exports. If you are unsure where to find this file, verify the path location in Office Manager | Maintenance | Practice Setup | Preferences | Paths (tab), or perform a Search for the file on the server drive(s).
11.Right-click the Proclrpt.txt file, and choose Open With...
From the menus, select Microsoft Excel or another spreadsheet application.
-or-
You could also choose to double-click open the file using Window's default text editor, then click Edit | Select All, and then Edit | Copy. Then open the spreadsheet application and select Paste.
Once the Proclrpt.txt is open in Excel, Sort or Filter the data using tools available in Excel. This may include filtering just the procedure codes and providers desired.
In addition, ALL these reports need to have an "Export to Excel / CSV" option, because you cannot do custom analysis and reporting by looking at the screen or saving a report to a PDF. Please consider adding an export to excel to every report in Dentrix.
Production summary report should have an option for "Current month" or "Month to date", by provider. Instead of YTD summary, it should have a "Compare to Fee Schedule ***" like you can do with the day sheet so you can compare production of insurance fees to normal fees.
Just make the software calculate and show the results in the line items on the second page of the Practice analysis when you change the parameters for the four columns on the front page. Thanks
