Post-it-note capability in all modules

Allow a notes/comments capability in all modules, with an option to attach the note to a date, patient, module, provider, insurance company, etc., or just to leave it free-floating. Option to view note in all modules when they open. Need to allow a note to be specific to a provider, that can only be accessed with their password. Note should also have reminder options to make it pop up at the patient's next appointment, or in a specified time period. [4573 63320]

When closing the office or blocking a particular amount of time off for say something like a holiday or multiple days off or times in a row, it would be great if there was an option to explain why we were closing the office. The only other way to do it is to schedule an event on those days and times and that is time consuming as you have to block each operatory for that time and day.

creating a administration tab in the charting area where the clinical notes are. we are a fast pace multiple doctor practice, there is no where to put admin notes in for patient to communicate it to clinical other than guarantor notes but that area gets full very quickly.

Similar to the clinical notes in the chart, we need an area there to enter non clinical notes, such as next treatment and appointment times needed , if a patient said they'll schedule in two months, or send a pre-estimate in a month-etc... Anything not clinical to the patient. We are now entering in the clinical note area all this info and even copy and pasting in emails sent to specialist about the patient. There is not area that we can have a running list of these things-non clinical area with info about the patient where any employee can open the area and automatically know where the patient is in treatment by opening a synopsis note area of what is needed next, or if the patient is done with treatment or if they are next to a specialist and then back to us, etc. Any non-clinical notes-AS IF WE ARE WRITING IN A CHART-CLINICAL AND GENERAL NOTES.

Front office notes regarding patient balance, insurance issues, anything regarding financial issues. Patient alerts is not a good area for this..the info is for front office only. The office Journal is where we have been putting them but we find it's hard to find a specific note, maybe not user friendly enough.

Hygiene sometimes see things in the patients mouth that they would like the dentist to look at either that day or in the future appointments. We used to put a post it in the chart but we are going paperless. The flags don't work for us. We use flag pop ups for front office staff that sometimes bum-barred us in the back with them so we tend to not look at them much. What I am thinking is can you design a "post it" that we can put on the patient chart next to the teeth chart that can be written on when a needed note needs to be seen by the dentist ASAP? Kind of like when we have the "post its" on the desktop of our computer screens and we add a note for ourselves to remember.

We were hoping that there could be some kind of alert that would pop up 24-48 hours before a scheduled appointment in which the lab case has not been returned. That would remind the staff to check and see if the case is in the office but not checked in or if the lab needs to be called.

We like to keep personal notes on patients. For example, hobbies, special interests, vacations, acquaintenances, etc. It would be nice if Dentrix had an icon for each patient so that if you want to find out personal info about that patient, you click that icon and up pops any and all personal info we have accumulated. Also. that info could be arranged so it could be searchable or presented in a report. For example, if you had tickets to the local professional or college football game and you wanted to give them to a patient, you could do a report on all patients who like the local football teams. Same with news items, recipes, health articles, etc. If you want to send an article on the benefits of Yoga to all your patients who run or bike, you could do a report for all runners or bikers that are patients in the practice.

In the patient info box, would be nice if there was a drop down box when you check of Child that you would be able to write in Parents names and phone numbers or be able to attach parents without creating a (NonPatient) for the parents. Lots of children have parents with different last names.

I find I have to go to the patient paper record to find out custodial parents name if they are not the insurance card holder.

We should be able to access all the notes, prior and future, with the ability to pull up all notes to review a list of all notes/reminders; The notes should also "pop-up" when a particular calendar day is opened like any other type of reminder.

At patient's willingness we like to keep track of big events like graduations, weddings, big trips, family births, the personal information that help us connect better with the patient at each appointment. A continuous notes section on each patient would be helpful, separate from any PHI and appointment notes. Not like the journal where you have to click to view each entry - more as if you were taking notes on a piece of paper as you get information, you can see all prior notes and add notes whenever you want (doesn't have to be on an appointment day like the clinical/progress notes)

In the patients chart, the bottom has 2 tabs of progress notes & clinical notes I think a third tab of Admin notes would be very helpful.

It would be great to have a general window that could be opened, similar to the Perio Charting window, that can be a place to list findings from E/IOExams. Example: nodules/lesions noted etc. Currently, we note them in the Clinical notes, but it would be great to have one central place to open and view findings

Would be helpful to have a spread sheet type document (and corresponding button on tool bar) that stayed with the individual patient's chart that could be added to or changed at any time. This would allow for easy scheduling between the front office and the back office and would allow for easy review of patients previous appointments and how much time was needed.

It would be nice to have a feature that reminds me to follow up with patients. We get bombarded with sticky notes to remind us of daily "to do's". I think this would come very handy with "care calls" as well as treatment plan follow up.

Yes! The ability to have it show up on the chart and say things that should not be permanent on the pop up alerts. It would be great to be able to use it exactly as a sticky note and remove it when it no longer applies. I find that we use the alerts for things we may not want the patient to see so sometimes they get blocked to early. A sticky note tool would help us go paperless a lot easier I think.

We once used PracticeWorks for a short time and they had a post-it note capability. That was one of the positive things about the software. Maybe something along those lines would be possible to create for Dentrix. You could chose the note color, and place them anywhere to pop up on specified dates. However, I believe they were only viewable from the work station that created it. So my notes would not pop up on any of the other stations. It would be better to have an option when generating the post-it to choose if it should be systemwide or personal. The little note box in the appointment book is so small it doesn't catch your eye to remember to look in it so unfortunately it is hardly ever used in our office. I'm hoping Dentrix can come up with something soon. Let them know if you think it would be a good addition to an already great software.

While I certainly appreciate the idea/concept behind post-it capability, I thought I might share some different insights. We have, in fact, used a Post-it software feature on our desktop for quite some time to aid in follow-up letters, scheduling needs, etc; however, over a period of 2 years, we have found it to clutter up the desktop, in spite of the "trash note" capability. We have since geared ourselves more toward maximizing Dentrix's features and have greatly optimized our usage of Dentrix alerts, (especially with continuing care frequency limitations) as well as procedure notes, appointment notes, etc. If there is anything specific for one of our providers, we merely insert a "(see note)" in the appointment description and input accordingly into the window below. A "Post-it" feature sounds wonderful, but personally, my aim is to eliminate them!!!!

YES!! We want to be able to have a quick reference to medical history stuff always available in the chart...was sort of thinking of it as one of the floating boxes that we could write in so we didn't have to open the full medical history each time..also would be the best way to always see the updates in between taking new histories...right now the only way is to patient alert or review all notes for the last 3-5 year. Reviewing those notes is not a reality in most practices, and I find many times my assistant closes the alert and so I never see it unless I remember to go back and check it...too much work!

would especially love having the same "text box" capability that already exists in the 'Presenter" module put into "Chart Notations" module in "Chart": instead of having to "write" a note using the mouse or a digital pen/tablet, from Chart Notations, simply create a floating "sticky note" that's always visible in the patient's Chart. This would be a MAJOR bridge between paper charting, where we'd simply grab a pen and write a note that we can ALWAYS see, and digital charting!

I would love to have the ability to put a note in a certain time block ( NOT create a "fake" patient) in the schedule. This way, if the doctor has a meeting, I can put it in that time block or if I want to have a Crown appt at that time, it is there and I can see it on my schedule. Having the ability to change the color of the note would be nice too.
