Post-it-note capability in all modules

Allow a notes/comments capability in all modules, with an option to attach the note to a date, patient, module, provider, insurance company, etc., or just to leave it free-floating. Option to view note in all modules when they open. Need to allow a note to be specific to a provider, that can only be accessed with their password. Note should also have reminder options to make it pop up at the patient's next appointment, or in a specified time period. [4573 63320]

As a follow up to my previous comment. Maybe it could be linked to the patient clinical notes somehow, where the note also got placed in the clinical note but kept a running log in the "notes" area so when you pulled up the "Notes" you could see all of them from the patient history and see what was happening to date.

You know what!! This is a great idea! Rather than having to search where the staff put the note about the who called the patient, or what they did for calling them back, it would so much easier if it free floated over the top of the patient chart and you were able to edit it and add to it by date. I believe there is a patient communication chart, but that is cumbersome to get to and not as easy to navigate. Having one floating note chart with this information would be great.

I would love to have the ability to put a note in a certain time block ( NOT create a "fake" patient) in the schedule. This way, if the doctor has a meeting, I can put it in that time block or if I want to have a Crown appt at that time, it is there and I can see it on my schedule. Having the ability to change the color of the note would be nice too.

would especially love having the same "text box" capability that already exists in the 'Presenter" module put into "Chart Notations" module in "Chart": instead of having to "write" a note using the mouse or a digital pen/tablet, from Chart Notations, simply create a floating "sticky note" that's always visible in the patient's Chart. This would be a MAJOR bridge between paper charting, where we'd simply grab a pen and write a note that we can ALWAYS see, and digital charting!

As would the ability to remove the "post it" note as we do physically once we're done with it.

YES!! We want to be able to have a quick reference to medical history stuff always available in the chart...was sort of thinking of it as one of the floating boxes that we could write in so we didn't have to open the full medical history each time..also would be the best way to always see the updates in between taking new histories...right now the only way is to patient alert or review all notes for the last 3-5 year. Reviewing those notes is not a reality in most practices, and I find many times my assistant closes the alert and so I never see it unless I remember to go back and check it...too much work!

While I certainly appreciate the idea/concept behind post-it capability, I thought I might share some different insights. We have, in fact, used a Post-it software feature on our desktop for quite some time to aid in follow-up letters, scheduling needs, etc; however, over a period of 2 years, we have found it to clutter up the desktop, in spite of the "trash note" capability. We have since geared ourselves more toward maximizing Dentrix's features and have greatly optimized our usage of Dentrix alerts, (especially with continuing care frequency limitations) as well as procedure notes, appointment notes, etc. If there is anything specific for one of our providers, we merely insert a "(see note)" in the appointment description and input accordingly into the window below. A "Post-it" feature sounds wonderful, but personally, my aim is to eliminate them!!!!

We once used PracticeWorks for a short time and they had a post-it note capability. That was one of the positive things about the software. Maybe something along those lines would be possible to create for Dentrix. You could chose the note color, and place them anywhere to pop up on specified dates. However, I believe they were only viewable from the work station that created it. So my notes would not pop up on any of the other stations. It would be better to have an option when generating the post-it to choose if it should be systemwide or personal. The little note box in the appointment book is so small it doesn't catch your eye to remember to look in it so unfortunately it is hardly ever used in our office. I'm hoping Dentrix can come up with something soon. Let them know if you think it would be a good addition to an already great software.

This is a useful tool for all the Debtrix users in our practice. I agree with a comment from Kathy that it would be nice to remove post it note once task is complete.

Yes! The ability to have it show up on the chart and say things that should not be permanent on the pop up alerts. It would be great to be able to use it exactly as a sticky note and remove it when it no longer applies. I find that we use the alerts for things we may not want the patient to see so sometimes they get blocked to early. A sticky note tool would help us go paperless a lot easier I think.

It would be nice to have a feature that reminds me to follow up with patients. We get bombarded with sticky notes to remind us of daily "to do's". I think this would come very handy with "care calls" as well as treatment plan follow up.

Would be helpful to have a spread sheet type document (and corresponding button on tool bar) that stayed with the individual patient's chart that could be added to or changed at any time. This would allow for easy scheduling between the front office and the back office and would allow for easy review of patients previous appointments and how much time was needed.

It would be great to have a general window that could be opened, similar to the Perio Charting window, that can be a place to list findings from E/IOExams. Example: nodules/lesions noted etc. Currently, we note them in the Clinical notes, but it would be great to have one central place to open and view findings

In the patients chart, the bottom has 2 tabs of progress notes & clinical notes I think a third tab of Admin notes would be very helpful.

At patient's willingness we like to keep track of big events like graduations, weddings, big trips, family births, the personal information that help us connect better with the patient at each appointment. A continuous notes section on each patient would be helpful, separate from any PHI and appointment notes. Not like the journal where you have to click to view each entry - more as if you were taking notes on a piece of paper as you get information, you can see all prior notes and add notes whenever you want (doesn't have to be on an appointment day like the clinical/progress notes)

We should be able to access all the notes, prior and future, with the ability to pull up all notes to review a list of all notes/reminders; The notes should also "pop-up" when a particular calendar day is opened like any other type of reminder.
