We have received complaints from our customers regarding their ability to choose their appropriate gender on our new patient forms. Dentrix only allows us to offer patients the option of Male or Female. We have several patients who no not identify as Male or Female, and do not feel comfortable selecting either option.
We are requesting that Henry Schein please update their software to allow for a non-binary gender option. We expect this change to be made as soon as possible. While we understand that changing software does not happen overnight, we expect this to be one of Henry Schein’s top priorities.
We do not tolerate discrimination of any kind, and neither should Henry Schein. By only allowing patients to select Male or Female, you are discriminating against individuals who do not identify as either.
We expect to hear back from a representative at Henry Schein regarding this concern.
