A lot of our Explanation of Benefits (EOB) are online because we have EFT set up for most insurances. So we are not physically getting a printed EOB from insurance company. We log into the insurance company website and save the eob as a PDF file and then import that to document center. So if we have a patient with 2 insurances and I need to send the EOB of the primary insurance company to secondary insurance company then it would be easier for me to just attach the pdf file (from document center) to the claim and not have to print the eob and scan it into document center just for it to be a jpeg. It waste a lot of time this way.
This really needs to be fixed. Huge PIA to have to convert things to JPEGs or try and take a screen capture of the document center everytime we need to attach something to a claim
I agree. This has been an issue for us as well. The whole point of going to electronic payments and EOPs is to reduce time. This defeats the purpose, especially when we pay extra to Dentrix to have the ability to send attachments.
pdf should be a supported document type. It's a pain when we print a document to the document center since it goes as a PDF, and then if we need to later submit it as supplemental info for a claim, it is not a supported document type, and so it won't show up.
