Dentrix Ideas

Manual Logout and Login Timeout.

We would like Dentrix to log you out of the system after a period of inactivity. It would also be nice if the individual office had several options for the time period before the user was logged off (example: 5,10, 15 minutes). (Similar to when you are in your online bank account.) And allow the users to manually logoff/login without closing all modules

What about at each workstation. Useful for end of day.

it would also be nice if you can choose between logging the user off verses just 'locking' the dentrix module and having the user re-input their password to resume (similar to the options in windows screensaver). This would be highly beneficial with online prescriptions, this way if an authorized user forgets to log off Dentrix it would prevent someone else from prescribing.

This is not quite what I think needs to be done. What is needed is a button that closes all modules on the workstation (not just stops the services on the server) and saves all the work done on that computer. Then a new user can open dentrix and get in. This would be good for protecting offices from embezzlement and make in more HIPAA compliant.

This idea was presented already, but I think the resolution given missed the mark on what was being asked for. What is needed is a button that closes all modules on the workstation (not just stops the services on the server) and saves all the work done on that computer. Then a new user can open dentrix and get in with their user/password. This would be good for protecting offices from embezzlement, make it easier to close out of dentrix, and make it more HIPAA compliant.

It would be nice to have an EXIT button to close all open DENTRIX modules at a single click rather than having to sit there and close EACH individual module when you want to exit entirely out of DENTRIX.

Need a quick log in/out icon switch between users without having to close out of everything. (We have 27 users with different levels of access, and sometimes need docs to log in/out for prescriptions, clinical note signing, etc.)

We would like to be able to lock Dentrix with out having to log all the way out of Dentrix. This would help when a patient is in the room to be able to show other information on the computer and not have to worry if they see information with in Dentrix that may not be for the patient or may be pulled up for a future patient or past patient.

Having an F-Key allow another user to login without having to log off dentrix. So many times I want to press an F-Key to have my username not be active so another user can login . That way I don't have to exit out of all of dentrix.

a simple LOGOUT must be added, such as alt-f7, to logout and new password is needed from that point. For proper security/rights.

Have ONE log out that logs out of all open dentrix modules

Like Eaglesoft has, Dentrix will require a new sign in after the computer has been dormant for 10 minutes. This way if someone walks away from their computer or leaves with out logging out, no one else can make entries using their name. This occurs all the time. No one checks who is signed in, they are trying to help, but this can cause problems later on.

To follow HIPPA rules we have to review audit logs to ascertain who is accessing PPI, however Dentrix relies on our staff to remember to log in and out of the program. Not only that they make it time consuming as all modules have to be closed out each time, so they have to be restarted on each occasion. PLEASE..PLEASE can we have a setting where the program locks out after a certain time period (5/10 mins) forcing staff to log back in. We have an easy exit on the computers themselves (CLT-ALT-DELETE) why can't we have this type of option with dentrix?

a quick function button on the key board that logs a user out when they walk away from the computer. you can close out windows to switch users quickly but Dentrix needs the same to be HIPAA Compliant.

Makes perfect sense, and would help protect patient information. We have problems with people not logging out and other users accessing patient information from the wrong user account. As well this would help greatly with performing after-hours maintenance. Dentrix is great but this seems to be a huge missing link. Dentrix has some many modules that users often close one window thinking they have logged out but there are other modules are still open. This has been a large inconvenience for us in administration and IT support. Auto log off and a one-click manual log off would be helpful in so many ways.
