When setting up or updating a patient's Continuing Care module, it would make more sense for the "Due Date" to key off of the "Prior Treatment Date", rather than "Today's Date" as it is currently set up. The intervals that we set for each of the patient's CC types are based on when the patient last had the treatment performed for that CC type. Currently, if we are reviewing our patients' CC and we have to correct the entries, after entering the correct "Prior Treatment Date" into that field, we have to manually figure out the new, corrected, "Due Date" in our heads, because the software automatically will enter the new "Due Date" as if the treatment for that CC type was performed today, that is, the new "Due Date" the s/w enters will be today's date plus the default interval we've set for that patient. It make more sense for the s/w to add the default interval to the "Prior Treatment Date" value. Here's an example:

As my staff continues to struggle with trying to figure out the complexities of the Continuing Care system in Dentrix, this remains one of the features that continues to baffle all of us: why wouldn't the software key off the "Prior Treatment" date to apply the default interval? If the "Prior Treatment" date happened to be "Today's Date", it would still work as it currently does, but if the "Prior Treatment" date is any date other than "Today", the default interval window is inaccurate and has to be over-written with a manual entry. Please fix this: the CC system is already terrifically complicated enough!
