New Patient Intake Process

Regarding the recent update for New Patient Intake process: There are circumstances when a patient is not "new" even though they are being added to the system (such as same provider but different office locations). Now that Dentrix is auto populating the "1st visit date", you are not permitted to edit/remove this date. End of month reporting for New Patients and New Patient Letters are generated from this date and now these reports will not be correct at the end of the month. Changes are great when you can work smarter and not harder; however this update is creating a lot more work on the back end to ensure that our end of month reporting is correct. Please enhance this update to allow for editing of the "1st visit date" PLEASE AND THANK YOU!!

I completely agree. We run into errors on the front end with not being able to edit their first visit and also with not being able to remove the NP from the visit.

For example, if we have a patient move from one sister office to the next, we do not want to add them to our PMS as a new patient because they are just relocating at that point.

Another example would be that we are a Pediatric Multispecialty practice. This means we have a "hub" office for our Oral surgery/IV and Oral Sedation patients. They go for that one appointment and then return to their home location. Again, we don't waant to enter them into Dentrix as a new patient in this scenario.

Please allow offices to edit the first first date to reflect true new patients. We can not utilize any reports with this update which makes this update useless for our office and any reports will be inaccurate.
