On the new update, we can no longer click on an empty appointment to schedule under new patient. We now have a window that has new family file that is requiring now to put all the information which is too time consuming. Is there a way around this?
Update shows that "Dentrix people" have no clue what actually working in a dental office is like. It's horrible!! Go back to the 2 second way of adding a new patient. This new update is awful and too time consuming!!!
Just a quick note for all the other offices who hate this new feature. It appears this was a Dentrix update back in May and Nov 2024 and the comments at that time were the same as they are now. That means Dentrix has no intention of fixing this. Just wanted to share what I found.
This new feature is HORRIBLE. Not even sure what the point of doing it was. It has created so many new problems in my office and am not surprised to find all these comments saying the same thing. Now if a new patient doesn't show up there is a family file already created for them, this is unnecessary. SWITCH IT BACK ASAP.
Iabsolutely cannot stand this new update!!! It takes up so much more time more steps and if the patient no shows its even more steps to get them out of the system. I don't know why they try to fix stuff that isn't broken! YES YES YES to all of the comments above me! This update is not helpful at all!! its just more time consuming and confusing.
The latest update to the new patient entry is not efficient for our office. It isn't helpful that phone numbers are not a required field but choosing the provider is required. Phone numbers are much more important for scheduling new patients. Also, I don't like that we now have to select whether to create or add to a family when making an appointment. Before the update, we were able to distinguish between patients that still needed forms/information entered vs. patients that have not submitted forms. Some information is easier to add at a later time and not while on the phone for the first time talking with a patient. Please consider changing back to the old way.
Hate the new update!!! Was so much easier before, please switch back! #1 problem is that it does not ask for the phone number of the patient, that should be required info always!! #2 problem is that the Date of birth is not always available when friends or interpreters make the appointments this should Not be a required field. #3 problem is that this creates a new family file. It was much better to allow us to create the family file at a later time, when pt actually shows up or has filled out their paperwork. #4 problem is that the initial contact is not the time to add someone to a family if they are new. Often time we do have the family on file but we didn't know enough information about this person yet. It is much better for us to do this later not on the phone! Please change it back, It was so much easier and less time consuming for our front office staff!!
Yes this new update has been causing a lot of problems in our office. Please switch back to the old way of creating a new patient appointment without having to create a family file. Its too messy if the patient does not make the appointment and they are now in the system. Then if they call to schedule again, we will most likely make another new patient appointment and have two of the same patients. This is a problem when we go to take x-rays, put in insurance, work up treatment if we grab the wrong patient file!!!! Change it back please!!!!!
