With the recent updates to the new patient window, we have noticed an issue with how new patient files are now created. because the "new patient" status is equivelent to the non-patient status, it prevents our communications system from recognizing that a new patient has been scheduled and does not send out the appropriate welcome and appointment messages. This is now creating an extra step when we create new patient files that we have to go back into the family file and change the status, which is likely to be missed and create larger issues. I request that we are able to select the patient status OR change the New Patient Status to be equlivent to Active Patient Status.
YES! I came here to suggest this! I have to change it to patient so they get the appointment reminders. They should get communications regardless of status. I have had past patients not show because their status isn't changed to patient but I also don't want to reactivate then until they show up, now I just change it for all of the appts I make. This becomes and issue when someone else is "helping" me and that doesn't get changed.
