Our office is a fee for service practice. When calculating the total the patient will owe, the patient portion is calculated as "Allowed Amount - Fee". Unfortunately, Dentrix now calculates the patient portion as "Allowed Amount - Primary Estimate". If the insurance's allowed amount is lower than our fees, Dentrix will not calculate the patient's portion correctly.
This could easily be solved if Dentrix allowed the practice to determine how to calculate the patient portion rather than the default be to use the Primary Estimate.
