Appt book > view > click "new" - "appt display info," (right side) choose "preferred name" in the first drop down box. This will show only first name (it has to be in the "preferred name" box in the family file for this to work). Remove any other unnecessary info from the other drop downs (phone number, etc.) and leave what you want displayed (appt reason, etc. - we have "appt reason" in the second and third boxes so it shows everything).
The original screen view you have now will be accessed when you push "F1" and this option should show when you push "F2" - it will tell you on the "select view" box when you go back to appt book > view for sure - you might have other custom views already, so that would push it to F3/F4/F5, whatever.
