The recent change to creating an appointment for new patients was not thought out thoroughly. It requires us to create a family file that takes longer that the old way of creating a new patient appointment. We don't need to add family files to the data base prior to the 1st appointment. If the new patient doesn't show for the appointment, it will require even more time to go back and delete the family files of people that are not patients of the practice. I guess there's a belief that all new patients actually come to first appointments?? Please go back to the old way of creating new patient appointments. So much easier.
I totally agree it has now become a hassle to delete a new pt that didn't show up !!
AWFUL UPDATE!! PLEASE SWITCH BACK!!
NEW FEATURE TO "STREAMLINE" NEW PATIENT APPOINTMENTS IS RIDICULOUS. THIS IS EXTREMELY TIME-CONSUMING FROM AN ADMINISTRATIVE STANDPOINT AND ADDS MORE PHONE TIME TO COLLECT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. IT ADDS UNNECESSARY DATA IN TO MY DATABASE WITH POTENTIAL RISK THAT PATIENT MAY DECIDE NOT TO COME HERE. IN ADDITION, IN ORDER TO REMOVE "NEW PATIENT" THAT NO-SHOW FROM MY DATABASE WE HAVE TO GO IN MANUALLY TO DELETE THE FAMILY.
