As a periodontist, I am concerned at how the perio chart calculates the Clinical Attachment Loss. In health, the distance from the gingival margin to the CEJ is roughly 2mm on the direct buccal and lingual and 3mm interproximally. In order for Clinical Attachment Loss to be calculated, a value must be placed in the box GM. Leaving that box blank MUST NOT have Dentrix assume that the value is 0. If the GM box is left blank, the program should either NOT calculate CAL or indicate with some symbol that the CAL could not be calculated. The way that it is now, too many dental team members believe that the probing depth is equal to the CAL, which is often NOT the case.
