When a patient updates insurance after claim has been denied unable to delete previous claim to rebill new insurance

If a patient calls with new insurance I am unable to now delete the previous claim (in a new month) and resub. The "work around" from Dentrix is to re-charge ALL procedures back-dated and adjust the over charge just to be able to resub the claim. There HAS to be a better way. Is there something in claims manager that can accomplish this?
