Dentrix Ideas

Get rid of setting a new password every 30 days. It is time consuming and problematic for our staff.

In a large office, changing passwords causes problems. We don't have time to deal with thinking up new passwords and keeping track of them. Now everyone is writing them down so not to forget them and to have the next password qualifications in place and ready. These passwords written down is less safe then the previous way dentrix allowed us to do it. Please go back to the old password system when we didn't have to come up with new passwords.

Thank you for posting to Dentrix ideas! Password resetting is needed to keep your patient's data secure, but the intervals can be configured. Please work with your Dentrix administrator to adjust these settings. There are several different time frames to set passwords for expiration. Here is a helpful article on how to change these settings https://henryscheinone.my.site.com/dentrix/s/article/96162

you can set the expiration to one year and click on the option to allow the staff to reuse the same password so that when the PW expires they can use you the same password again. (in the password security just uncheck the box for password history.

If you go into Office Manager >Maintenance>Practice Setup > Practice Passwords Setup. In the box that opens, click "Password Security" on the lower left. There is a dropdown box that gives you other options. We have ours set on 180 days.
