WHEN WE SPEND THE TIME TO ATTACH IMAGES AND XRAYS TO A PRE-AUTH AND SUBMIT IT IT WORKS GREAT BUT THEN WHEN WE COMPLETE THAT PRE-AUTH TX THE PRE-AUTH NUMBER TRANSFERS OVER TO THE CLAIMS BUT THE ATTACHMENTS DO NOT TRANSFER OVER. IN THE PAST THIS HAS NOT BEEN AN ISSUE BECAUSE THE INS COMPANIES HAVE ACCEPTED JUST AN EXISTING PRE-AUTH NUMBER BUT NOW WE ARE GETTING DENIALS BACK STATING THAT NOT ONLY DO WE HAVE TO HAVE THE PREAUTH NUMBER BUT ATTACHMENTS AS WELL. INS COMPANIES ARE RIDICULOUS. I IMAGINE IT SHOULD BE EASY TO MAKE THE IMAGES FOLLOW THAT WE HAVE ALREADY ATTACHED. IT SHOWS IN THE ATTACHMENTS THAT FOR EXAMPLE 2 IMAGES ARE PART OF THE CLAIM BUT THEY ARENT ACTUALLY THERE

Yes, in the past they had done this but recently with Delts in the past two months we have just sent in the claim with the pre-auth attached in the right spot as well as putting it in the remarks for unusual services and we have been getting back SEVERAL claims stating non-payment because we don't have x rays attached to the new claim even though the pre-auth number is attached. Give it to the insurance companies to make it even more difficult to get paid, very frustrating.

My understanding is, if your placing the preauth number in the designated place, the insurance will use that to pull up all the previous submitted documentation. You do not have to resubmit it.

also the remarks for unusual services should transfer over from original pre-auth to claim after completion as well

I dont like having to reattach images again its annoying and time consuming when they are already attached to the pre-auth
