Many insurances do not count the preventative codes towards the yearly maximums. The way Dentrix is currently set up, if a patient has had any preventative services, such as a cleaning and exam, when a treatment plan is generated, it will automatically take the cost of the cleaning and exam out of the maximum. If there was a way when entering insurances to document which codes will not take away from the yearly benefits, it would be much easier to generate an accurate treatment plan.
