Bueller, Bueller....anyone?? The lag is killing the program. No screen should ever be so slow it shows 'Not Responsive' and then finally finishes the task!
Hello there,
Any update on this?
Any workaround we could try to fix or improve this lag issue with Dentrix?
any update or fix on this slowness? its killing our practice, I might have to change the system if this taking too long to fix.
Before releasing shiney new options, how about fixing the everyday stuff that is killing our productivity! I wish I would have never done these updates. I want to go back to G4!!!
Later editions (7.4.5 and 7.5) are extremely slow and for those users, specifically reception who are in appointment book, chart, and ledger continuously and then when they process electronic submissions, the system lags to the point of momentary non-responding. Talking to Tech support reps, they have run a module opening timer to give them a sense of delays in opening modules. Since there was no one module that opened in more than 10 seconds, they suggest this is "normal" expectations. Although this might be a helpful tool, it does not simulate operations while there are multiple modules in use and with intermittent electronic submissions happening.
Looking at the required hardware for Dentrix 7.5, for both the Server and workstations is terribly underestimated. Suggesting that a dual-core processor 2.4GHz with 4GB RAM is a requirement is hardly any guidance. Here we run i7 (Quad-core) systems with 16GB RAM and solid state drives in all units. We've worked with our IT personnel to identify unnecessary processes running in the background at startup and things are still painful for all users (although our reception is fit to be tied). We started on G7.4 when the end of Adobe Flash in Windows 10 forced our decision and it has just been almost 6 months. Despite the time, we all still remember the differences in responsiveness of G6 and the current versions. The initial responsiveness was noticeable after the initial transition to 7.4, but this slowness has been amplified by the upgrade to G7.4.5 and G7.5.
We certainly hope that this issue is reaching a HIGHEST PRIORITY to getting your installed base satisfied with their Dental Practice software.
