2 way texting to patients not on the schedule, right from the family file

everyone texts now, and its easier to sched pt through texting vs email and calls, its limiting to only be able to text patients if they are scheduled, it would be awesome to be able to click on their cell phone number in the family file or click on their email address from the family file and text/email the pt directly

Yes! Texting from the appt card and the family file. So many voicemails are full or not set up these days. Going out to the Dentrix hub is just one more step, we should be able to do it right from inside Dentrix. Then you are right there to make notes about the the text message in the OJ or appt card. When doing it in the Dentrix hub you have to remember to go back to Dentrix to make notes about who and why you sent the message. Thanks!

I put both the email and text (with mobile domain) on the patient's email line in the family file and just hit the @msg button. It looks like this: person@gmail.com;8882228888@txt.att.net on the email line. It will tell you it's incorrect when you say "ok" but just go with it. You can go online and get the mobile domain addresses for texting straight thru email (att, tmobile, etc..). It's really simple. Once I hit the @msg button, it goes straight to Outlook and I write the msg and send. I can remove the email or text address depending on how I want the pt to receive my msg.
