Had several patients wanting to know where previous balance was coming from. I had one patient where the balance went back all the way to 1996. Somehow it wasn’t collected. The only thing that was being collected since then was DOS coinsurance and always left the previous balance. It would be very helpful if there was a specific color or symbol to locate each DOS where there is a lingering balance. It took me a long time to figure out where the balance was coming from because everything seemed to be paid until I reached that year.
