Dentrix Ideas

Custom Paint Types

Allow the user to change how a paint type paints and/or to add/define/customize new paint types that can be saved and reused. Wants the red lines to be bolder. Wants the ability to customize the paint on a tooth by tooth basis. Wants to actually paint/draw/color on the Chart with the probe. [302]

It is very frustrating that you are limited on how your clinical chart will look (not accurate or doesn't truly reflect the work that has been done). We use this as a quick assessment when we are trying to troubleshoot an issue. There needs to be a way quickly to allow the office a way to customize the way those paint types reflect in patient's chart, and it needs to happen quickly!

The ability to assign dotted, outlined, solid, and hatched patterns to the teeth in the odontogram was a great idea, and Dentrix is one of the few programs to allow this versatility. However, I wish the development team would complete the implementation by allowing each of the paint types for each type of procedure. Solid, outlined, and hatched are only available for crowns and denture teeth, while solid, hatched, and dotted are only available for surface restorations. Crowns and denture teeth are missing the dotted option, and surface restorations are missing the outlined option. This is critical when trying to differentiate between composite, metal, and porcelain, which is what the paint types are for. So please allow all four types for any type of procedure.

Just like we do with procedure buttons in the chart module, we should be able to customize the paint type image used with procedure codes. Long overdue.

the colors are fine to me. however, I really wish there were more options to the "paint types".. meaning... how they actually show up in the chart.

I cannot see when we treatment plan a night guard. we have to make a pop up alert. We want some type of symbol to be on the hard tissue chart.

to be more customizable would be great. thanks

We would love to be able to chart Silver Diamine in the chart separately from a Sealant

The ability to change the color of "surface watches" would make them much easier to visualize in the clinical chart !!!

It would be amazing to have paint types for "attrition", "abraison" and "abfraction"

our office has wanted this for years. the way it is now does not allow the chart to be accurately painted and change the surfaces in different fillings to be exactly what the patient presents with. we have tried the edit paint option and it doesn't save it. we use standardized charting and dentrix isn't exactly like the standardized way.

Absolutely! And I'd like the paint type to be colored like the rest of the paint types so we can identify if they're made by us or "existing other"

This is a major flaw in Dentrix. We have not found a way to accurately record a filling on the maxillary molars that does not cross the transverse ridge. If we record as O,O it is defined as a two surface filling. If simply O you cannot paint mesial and distal pits. Does anybody have a good work around while we are waiting for a fix?

Ralph, if I understand your comment correctly, Dentrix is actually already able to post mesial and distal pits. See this video clip: http://cid-34ed05f4f2b93b2f.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/ChartingMesialDistalPits.wmv

It would be nice to show teeth in crossbite also. They could be a slightly different color.

I would like a way to chart & paint a tooth that is recommended for a crown (elective) but not necessary due to decay. Using the Condition "watch tooth " is too vague

Would like the ability to have different materials show up with dfferent colors (individually selected) Such as: Cast gold crown purple, porc to gold blue and maybe all porc. crowns light blue. Same for alloys vs resins. or cast gold inlay/onlay vs resin direct/indirect. Practice Works did allow this in we found it very positive, as you can see at a glance what type of material the restored tooth has.

Ditto as others here, but I would like to see referrals to be charted in a diff color. For example if endo is tx plan but ref to specialist, it would chart as diff color. This would prevent walking in a telling pt that she needs to get endo done, only then to have her say ‘ I thought you wanted that other doc to do it’

I would like to have the option to customize the teeth numbers. We have some patients with retained primary teeth in the place of missing permanent teeth, but in the wrong places. Dentrix is too rigid in that respect. It would be nice to be able to change each tooth to whatever number/letter we need it to be.

We have many patients that have NTI's or have them treatment planned. It would be very helpful if the asst or hyg opens the chart and there is a way to paint or show somewhere on tooth chart that they are currently wearing one. Thanks.

We would like to be able to customize the paint type options. For example, a compositie filling to be charted as a surface restoration - outline, instead of surface restoration - hatched. It would be nice to customize these charting options so that our office can function more efficiently. I also agree with W. Gray that referrals should be charted in a different color.

It would be great if custom paint types could be created. It would help even if a letter could be assigned to a procedure that would show up in the corner of the chart for procedures that are entire mouth or quadrant specific, such as osseous surgery.
