Add an option for insurance estimates to factor in waiting periods.
Enable insurance estimates to factor in waiting periods. Similar to a plan maximum that is calculated per patient, this would allow us to put in any waiting periods for basic or major services per patient. Treatment plan and ledger estimates would be more accurate.

Thank you all for the feedback! We are currently planning on implementing this enhancement in a future version of Dentrix.
I am glad that this feature is now available on the newest version. However, it is just in general. It isn’t specified for what type of service such as Basic or Major...
This would be great! Allow a place per individual to enter effective date and time of waiting periods. Please please please dentrix, this would be so helpful!
This is one of those features that should have been a "basic" - the system has the ability to check eligibility, but without this sort of fundamental information we are still flying blind. It is time consuming and sometimes confusing to have to pull up each patient individually and figure out their effective date. Some insurance plans do not have the effective date listed on their site so then we are forced to make phone calls and struggle though automated menus or wait on hold to speak to someone.
Where is Dentrix on allowing us to entry an insurance waiting period date? This is getting very important to have with in Dentrix, more and more insurance companies are coming out with waiting periods!!! Please add as soon as possible!

In the insurance coverage table, can you please add a spot were we can list the benefit period? A spot to state dates for Calendar year (Jan 1-Dec. 31) or benefit period eg. (July 1 - June 30)
This is always a concern at our practice. We use pop-ups & scan in an insurance breakdown sheet, but it is too easy for waiting periods to get missed & work to be done on a patient... costly mistakes! If Dentrix had something in place to show waiting periods and not reflect coverage on treatment plans until the waiting periods have been satisfied.
There should be a way to reflect benefits in extended treatment plans that go beyond the insurance benefit period - for example, if an insurance renews on January 1 we should be able to review a plan for treatment in December utilizing the remaining insurance in December, but on the same treatment plan show what the RENEWED benefits would cover in January.
It would be helpful if we were able to put in deadlines for waiting periods for codes and services in the coverage table screen. Fro example: this pt has coverage for preventive services available but has a waiting period on his basic services until Aug 1st 2017. If there was a way to be able to say there is a waiting period and put a date that will it will be available would be helpful when doing treatment plans. As of right now, I put it in notes and try to remember which pt has a waiting period.

Entering the effective date (to figure the waiting periods) would also be helpful with those plans that use a plan year (from effective date to anniversary date).
There isnt currently a way to document if a patient has benefit waiting periods per category (ie 12 months waiting for major) for individual patients without changing the plan for everyone in the group. This makes treatment planning, estimating, and financing very frustrating and difficult. I have reached out to dentrix CSR without results was referred to this site. PLEASE HELP
Waiting periods AND age limitations!
