Zoom Video Conferencing is well suited for teledentistry, to the extent a general dentist can connect in real time with another dentist to share a conebeam image, pictures, x-rays, perio charts, everything you can see on your screen. The host of the meeting can save the meeting including all the video as a file. Zoom video conferencing is integrated with the EPIC medical record system for telemedicine. Teledentistry is gaining momentum, and Zoom Pro licenses are eligible for Business Associate Agreements required for HIPAA compliance. Zoom is one of the most popular video meeting and webinar systems in the US at this time. Nothing is saved in the cloud, and security is very well established. We now have intraoral video cameras that connect with USB with good quality for only $300. I installed the drivers on 8 clinic computers in less than 30 minutes.
