BCBS state dental plus for SC pays in 2 payments. The Basic plan has their own fee schedule and then the plus policy has one as well which the provider will receive 2 payments that are itemized for each. In the system you can only itemize 1 of those payments per procedure then you will have to add the second payment as an additional payment which messes up the fee schedule in our system. If there was an supplement line to add the second payment for each instead as a total we will have a better idea of what the plan actually pays for each procedure. This is just an idea I have used Open Dental in the past and they have that option.
