We could easily get current xrays without all the "duplicate records" hassle (maybe it could indicate beside the xray if there was a duplication fee and the patient could be notified instantly), plus forensics identification would be easier for police, coroners, etc... An Arlington detective once asked me why this was not a thing. Thought it was a great idea.
