Dentrix team, please address the current limitation with Dentrix–Weave integration regarding medication recognition. At the moment, Weave only recognizes medications if the exact prefix “Pre-Med” appears at the beginning of the medication name saved in Dentrix. This creates a major workflow issue because many medications are documented without that specific prefix or follow different naming conventions. As a result, legitimate medications may not be recognized by the integration, which can lead to confusion and extra manual work for staff.
Additionally, with the current settings, if the “Pre-Med” prefix is not used, the medication is often categorized under medical conditions instead of medications. This misclassification creates inaccurate patient records and makes it harder for teams to quickly identify important medication information during appointments. It also forces staff to rename or restructure entries just to make the integration work properly.
Dentrix should consider removing this prefix requirement entirely or replacing it with a more flexible and inclusive standard such as “med” or “medication.” Ideally, the integration should recognize medications based on the medication record itself rather than relying on a strict naming prefix. Improving this would make the system more reliable and better aligned with how real-world practices document patient medications.
